ISC - International Students Cell

The university has established an International Students Cell (ISC) to cater to the needs of foreign students. It is headed by a Director, who is in constant contact with the International Institutions /organizations such as the Embassies/Consulates of the foreign countries for providing required information for the benefit of the prospective foreign students. It has collaborations with Foreign Universities, jointly offering twinning programs, Dual Degree Programs and Integrated Degree programs.

It provides single window system to facilitate the international students with all kinds of services that they require. International Students Hostel is available with all the modern amenities. ISC is a host to students from several foreign countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Iraq, Panama, Vietnam, Libya, Mali, Laos, Thailand, Oman, Saudi Arabia, USA, Nigeria, South Korea, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Muscat, Bahrain, Afghanistan, De Cote D’ivoire, Eritrea, United Kingdom, Qatar, South Africa, etc. studying in various faculties.

ISC deals with the following activities:



Admission and guidance to international students:

International students will be given admission into postgraduate and professional programs in the campus colleges of the University. Admissions for Ph.D. programs are given round the year.

Facilitating Collaborations with Foreign Universities, for jointly offering twinning programs, Dual Degree Programs and Integrated Degree programs:

ISC has taken initiatives for signing up of MoUs for academic collaboration and exchange of faculty and students with Universities/Institutions like: INDICASAT, Panama; EASTC, Tanzania; Aksum University- CNCS, Ethiopia; Mzumbe University, Tanzania; College of Humanities and Sciences of North East Normal University, China; Jilin Jianzhu University (Architecture University), China; Jilin Agricultural University, China; SUNY Poly, USA; Curtin University, Australia; Jigjiga University, Ethiopia, Guizhou Normal University, China.

Training students in foreign languages through Centre for Foreign Languages (CFL):

As per the suggestions and direction of Government of Andhra Pradesh, ANU through ISC has started CFL and identified ten International Languages, namely Communicative English, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, French, Korean, German, Russian, Spanish and Kiswahili, which have great opportunities for further studies and for employment to the students.

Designing/Developing free Online Courses on the lines of MOOCs:

ISC has taken measures to design/develop MOOCs in ANU through ISC and is offering various courses through www.moocs.anuonline.ac.in. MOOCs are the biggest upcoming trend in the current education scenario, Offering an opportunity to all individuals irrespective of the economic background and physical location to pursue education. MOOCs are a boon for people who have faced obstacles in pursuing education due to lack of funds, no proper opportunities, un-accessible geographical location, etc.
