Directorate of
Admissions was started in the academic year 2003-04 to stream
line the admission of students in post graduate courses in
Acharya Nagarjuna University College, its P.G. Centres and all
affiliated colleges in the Acharya Nagarjuna University area.
Prof.K.B. Prabhakara Rao, Professor of Mathematics was the
Director for the year 2003-04. Prof. P.V.V. Satyanarayana,
Professor of Chemistry was appointed as the Director in the
academic year 2004-05 to 2009-10. Present, Prof. M.V.S.
Koteswara Rao, Professor, Department of Political Science and
Public Administration was appointed as a Director.
The Directorate in meant mainly for
admitting the candidates into M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., Courses
through single window method. Normally advertisement for the
admissions will be given in the third week of March every year
and invite applications, from students desirous of getting
admission into P.G. Courses. The Directorate makes arrangement
for printing of applications, information brochure etc. and will
be made available to the students in several centres. The
students can obtain applications in centres or in the
Directorate of admissions in person or through post by paying
prescribed charges for the application either by cash or through
demand draft drawn in favour of Director, Directorate of
Admissions. Normally, three weeks of time will be prescribed for
receiving applications by the Director of Admissions.
Admission into P.G. Courses will be
made on the basis of the rank obtained in the entrance test
conducted by the Directorate for some courses and for certain
course admission will be made on the basis marks obtained in the
qualifying examination.
The Directorate makes arrangement to
scrutiny the applications, send hall tickets to the students for
writing entrance test. The tests will be conducted in several
centres in the University Area. Generally, entrance tests will
be conducted during second week of May every year. The answer
scripts will be valued and the results will be announced in the
third week of May. The rank cards and schedule of counseling for
admission will be intimated to the candidates individually by
post. For those courses having no entrance examination, marks
obtained in the qualifying examination will be taken and ranks
will be given to the candidates.
The Counseling process for admission
will be generally carried out during second to fourth weeks of
June every year. The admission process was totally computerized
and the candidate can exercise the option for the admission into
the college of his/her choice. The admission allotment letters
will be issued to the candidates after collecting prescribed fee
and they are requested to report the college for the carrying
out necessary formalities for their admission into the college.
The Directorate will allow the
candidate to exercise the option of sliding from one college to
the other college. The admissions process is totally transparent
and the vacancy position of the seats will be displayed
prominently in the counseling centre.
The rules of reservation for SC, ST and
BC will be followed strictly. The reservation in respect of NCC,
Sports, Physically Handicapped, Children of Armed forces
personals will also be followed as per the percentage prescribed
by the State Government from time to time. The eligible
candidates for fee concession will be allowed to enjoy of fee as
per the norms of prescribed by the State Government.
The total process will almost be
completed by the first week of July when the students are
required to attend the classes in the college in which they are
admitted.
The Directorate of Admissions takes
care of collection of tuition fee and other fees of behalf on
all admitting institutions and maintains accounts and release
the money to the colleges after the closure of the admissions.
The Directorate makes arrangement for
carrying out the admissions in respect of M.Phil Ph.D. also.
The Director directly reports the Vice-Chancellor for its
functions.
