The Department of Biochemistry in Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur was established during the academic year 1997-98 with 20 students as a Self finance course. Biochemistry captures several aspects of life by interconnecting to all branches of Life Sciences. It deals with the structural, functional and dynamic aspects of various biomolecules involved in the process of structure, energetic, signaling, synthetic and degradation pathways involved and evolved at the molecular and cellular level. The focus will be given to biological molecules to understand various aspects of cellular and molecular functions in development, health and disease with applications to Industrial, Modern Biotechnology and Medical field.
Achievements
Awarded with UGC-Research Award from UGC during 2016-18. Life member in SCBC, ICBC, Associate Fellow in AP Science Congress, Awarded Best Researcher from INSO, Chennai, Review Member for International Journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics
Research
Active research is carrying out in the field of Nano-biotechnology, molecular biology. Various research papers are being published in a reputed journals and students have been participating in different National and International seminars by presenting their works. Active collaborations are being persued with the Industry and other central institutes.
