About IQAC of Acharya Nagarjuna University

 
        Acharya Nagarjuna University has established Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in 2003 at the instance of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) as a post accreditation quality sustenance measure. It is inaugurated by Dr. V. S. Prasad, the then Director of NAAC. In recognition of its academic excellence, Acharya Nagarjuna University has been awarded an "A+" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during its 4th Cycle, with an institutional CGPA of 3.46/4.00. The University has also been ranked 97th in the overall category, 59th in the universities category, and 20th among state universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF-2024), as declared by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Further, showcasing its global and National standing, Acharya Nagarjuna University has achieved 108 international ranks, 39 National ranks, 3 certifications, 2 records, and 5 awards including 2 Green University Awards and 1 State Energy Conservation Award, across a total of 157 different categories. These accolades have been awarded by esteemed world-ranking organizations such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), QS I-GAUGE, Times Higher Education (THE), Scimago, UI Green Metrics, NIRF,MHRD's Swachhata Rankings, University Guru, SECA, India Today, The Week, Education World, Green Mentors, among others.

Objectives:
  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Functions:
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks / Parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
  • Documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality
  • Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up
  • Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC

Apart from these, IQAC shoulders the responsibility of other quality assurance activities of the Campus that include maintaining and processing the Career Advancement Schemes (CAS) of Faculty on a continuous basis. It promotes the policy of imparting quality education in the institutions affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University. The necessary database useful for presentation at Governmental and other levels to assess the quality performance of the University is also being undertaken by IQAC. Acharya Nagarjuna University is one of the foremost accredited educational institutions to have established IQAC for a continuous monitoring of quality education. With the support and encouragement of the University administration, the IQAC of Acharya Nagarjuna University is doing its best for an overall maintenance of the quality parameters of the academic and the administrative components of Acharya Nagarjuna University.
